When critic Monroe Freedman said "Finch never attempts to change the racism and sexism that permeates the life of Maycomb” I completely disagree with this point because Atticus Finch defended a black man when no other lawyer in the whole Maycomb county did this ruined Atticus's reputation which shows his determination by fighting for equal rights. I also disagree when you said "never attempts" as this means he didn't try, but during the case Atticus Finch defended a coloured man and try to change the jury’s views on the case. In my opinion, I think that Atticus Finch is a key role model to students because it teaches them not to be racist, sexist and prejudiced.
