I learned a lot from my grandfather and I enjoyed shadowing him. He is actually like a mini GPS because he has been almost everywhere because he was stationed many places in the navy. He went to Guam, Iceland, Alaska, Virginia, Scotland, and Washington DC and soon he ended up here in the town of Claremont North Carolina. In the book atticus gives a memorable quote saying “ you never really understand a person unless you consider the things from his point of view-until you climb into his skin and walk around in it”. This basically tells you that if you want to connect or understand a person that you have to comprehend every word, action, movement, quote, idea and basically try and see through the eyes of them and “be” that person. Shadowing my grandpa was something that I will remember and I learned so much about him and how he spent his life in the navy, in postal services, raising a family and becoming retired and I'm thankful to have someone like him in my life that puts others before themselves. Shadowing him is definitely going to be a memory I will never forget and it is all thanks to a quote by a guy named Atticus
