Atticus is Courageous
Atticus demonstrated courage because he is protecting a black man and the people of Maycomb do not want that. “In ones and twos men got out of the cars. Shadows became substance as lights revealed solid shapes moving toward the jail. Atticus remained where he was.” (Lee 202). It is shown that Atticus is being courageous because when the men got out of the car he just sat there and was being courageous and brave; he is talking to the people in the courthouse.
