Atticus has had a lot of problems after the death of his wife. He learned with his kids because he didn’t see what problems they were having and he had to help and guide Jem and Scout. Atticus had problems with his family members ignorance because Atticus is wanting to help and defend a black man, but his family does not agree because he is a “black” and “different”; however, why look from the outside, if they haven’t really met the person face to face. Atticus experienced losing when he had all the answers. For example, in the court he said everything right, but he lost. When I read the quote “To Kill A Mockingbird,” I thought it meant how to kill a mocking, and that the story was going to about a boy learning to kill a mockingbird. Now that I read the book, and read what Atticus said about “To Kill A Mockingbird”, now I know what it means. It means we can’t destroy something or someone who didn’t do nothing because they are innocent. For example, almost all the white people in the town wanted the black man in jail without evidence, so he was innocent. In this book I learned that in life there will be times that will be hard and frustrating, but it won’t give us nothing back; we just need to forgive and just do the right choices. I learned that I don’t know the lives of other people and it is not right judge them, because I don’t live with them and I don’t know what problems they have. We can’t judge the people just by their looks or from where they are living or what they have and what they don’t have. This book has changed me because it tells me that I need to be appreciated of what I have because from what I can see in the book, Jem and Scout didn’t wanted a lot of things.
