Alleged disability: attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
His mother reported that the claimant was constantly getting into trouble; he received special education services, but he was expelled from school because or inappropriate behavior. “He always get put out of school.” He had difficulty sleeping, needed reminders to take care of his personal hygiene, was hyperactive, and needed to take his medication every day. He constantly agitated and irritated his siblings, also had problem with authority figures.
He was “Homebound due to behavior at school.” He had difficulty understanding, carrying out, and remembering simple instructions. He had difficulty interacting with others (regardless of age), and playing team sports. He did not obey rules and did not accept criticism or correction. He did not help around the house, did not study, did not do homework, and did not complete tasks. He wanted to be in control.

He failed to complete assignments, lacked the motivation to learn. His grades were Ds and Fs. He was extremely immature and defiant; the topics of his conversations were inappropriate as well as his language. He was “all over the place,” and ran in and out the classroom without permission. One of the student progress reports indicated that he had “not been to class in weeks, when he was in class, minimal work was done/completed.” He was suspended from school multiple times, was involved in a fight at school, the court was involved, and was assigned community service.
