The first edition of ADDES was released on 1989 and so far there have been four editions. The latest edition i.e the fourth one was released couple of years ago in 2013. The ADDES-4 follows the guidelines of the APA guidelines for ADHD as per the latest DSM-5 (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). This assessment tool is commonly used by educators and mental health professionals (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). The ADDES-4 has two versions i.e. the home version, and the school version. The home version of ADDES-4 is completed by parent or guardian and it is usually takes around 15 minutes to complete (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). This part of the assessment has 46 items that focus on behaviors that occurs mainly in a home environment (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). While, the school version is taken by the school personnel or educators that could include instructors (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). The school version of ADDES scale includes 60 items that is about behavior that happens in the school and could include school performance as well (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). The ADDES scale has different standards for males and females who take this assessment (McCarney & Arthaud, 2013). The assessment is not only cheap, but it also requires one training in order to administer this test. Furthermore, the assessment is mostly done by a professional. The test also takes less time than the ADDES-4 test. While, the ADDES-4 test would fail to provide the accurate results because of the reliability and the validity criterias. Finally, if the ADHDT-2 could be improved, than some of the improvements could be obtaining a summary sheet of goals, and interventions for the parent, caregiver or the teacher to follow like in the ADDES-4 test.
