Attending college is a privilege. Not because only a few have earned the right but because not everyone has the means to. Because I recognize that I am extremely lucky to be pursuing an education I fully intend for it to benefit as many people as possible, not just me. It has always been my dream to help start a nonprofit to help first-generation students get to college. I myself am a first-generation student. My parents did not finish high school and two of my grandparents are illiterate. I have seen the effects that a lack of education have on people, that is why I have worked so hard to push myself and that is why I want to push others.
