To be successful, to be intelligent, to be a change. Those are the three main reasons I want to attend college. In this day and age, many jobs require a higher level of education to be able to work. Those jobs that don’t require a degree, depend upon more manual labor, backbreaking work and lower wages. I would rather remain in school longer, expand my knowledge, and get a career on everything I have learned, than go straight to the work field to earn less and do more.…
Ever since I was a little girl, going to collage has always been a goal of mine. My sister has always inspired me to go to college. When my sister went to college she was full of joy, ready to start her new life by choosing her own path; she might of had some tough rides along her experience with college but she never gave up because she wanted to achieve her goals. Which made me want to graduate high school and go of to college. Going to college will open many more doors for my search of finding a job or just even helping me find a the position of being Ultrasound Technician.…

My goal is to be able to what I love for the rest of my life and never watch my father go through his painstaking work ever again. Day by day as time goes on my father continues to work himself to death. Waking up at 3am and working until 12 am every single day in another state miles away from his family. All so he can support my education and the well being of my family. Winning this scholarship will alleviate the burden that my education has put on my family.…
The next essay I found to assist in evidential analysis was Validation Experiences and Persistence among Community College Students by Elisabeth A. Barnett. Barnett this research contributes to the understanding of college student departure decisions as they help determine factors related to persistence. Only 34% of all college students graduate with a degree from a two or four-year college. Only 3 out of 10 students who start at community colleges full-time graduate with an associate degree in three years(CE6). Her sample represented a student demographic and included ages from seventeen to seventy-one, with an average age of twenty-five.…
I love spending my free time with my family and doing fun activities with them. My goal in life is to be able to help people or animals who are helpless. A lot of people go to college for careers that make substantial incomes, but I want a meaningful career where I can make a difference in peoples’ lives. This makes me more and more excited to attend college…
Post-graduation, I plan to attend grad school. My first choice for grad school would be to attend The Ohio State University for clinical psychology. During the grad school program I would love to be able to assist in teaching psychology or sociology courses. I would also like to be able to help generally in any position for Ohio State's mental health department. I know that college is a stressful time and this, along with the age range of most college students, puts students at higher risk of developing mental health issues.…
I have many goals for the future. I would love to graduate college and go to a medical school. After medical school my goal is to become a pediatrician and help children. Helping others has been a goal of mine for quite some time now. I merit assistance from the from the scholarship committee for many reasons.…
The difference between an option and a decision is that an option is a thing that is or may be chosen; whereas a decision is a conclusion or resolution reached after consideration. While the two are similar in a various amount of ways, they are very different. For example, a college student that pays thousands of dollars to attend a specific college made the decision to sign up for that class, but that particular person has the option on whether or not to go. By attending the class, although not mandatory, exemplifies the qualities of independence and self-discipline. From a young age through teen years, kids mostly discuss the need for freedom: freedom from parents, freedom from rules, freedom from responsibility.…
Growing up, I’ve always been criticized about my weight. I use to let this affect me as a person but when I got to highschool that all changed. My freshman year, I decided if I wanted to play sports or not. I took a turn and ran cross country my sophomore year because my gym teacher, told me it would be a great thing for me to do since I had stressed about losing weight.…
My Academic and Professional goals As I was in high school, I always dreamt of my life in college. Being in college is a magical experience. The college transforms you into a different person. Being in college also means developing the life that we want and creating a pathway to our dreams and future. It means creating your own way to travel to your dreams and goals.…
Finishing college was a big milestone for me and I plan to continue on and become a better learner from it. I know that college is not a walk in the park, but without the experience I would not be where I am…
I talked to one of the people giving a talk, and he said, ”School is very important. You should go to college because it will help you succeed in life and make your life better.” At that time I thought I never wanted to go to college because I thought it would be pointless, but I understand now that he was right. As I grew older, I gradually realized that college can help me in so many ways. I would love to experience college and learn new things and be in a new environment.…
To be more independent. College is a huge different from high school in many ways. For example, you can’t depend on anyone, the classes you fail only effect you. Throughout my schooling, I really learned no matter what the situation is good or bad or what type of mindset you have you need to have faith and believe any obstacle can be…
