Many people start thinking about college during high school. If you are planning to attend college, it is best to know your options. Lots of colleges have competitive admissions so having a college to fall back on and have as a backup is always a good idea. In 2017, it was estimated that 20.4 million students would attend college. What most colleges look for in applicants is grades in prep courses, SAT and/or ACT test scores, strength in curriculum, and grades in all of your courses. Many people attend college to start fresh, meet new people, learn new skills, gain financial responsibility, independence, get involved, have fun, and get a change of scenery. There are many things to consider while viewing college options such as: how were your academics in high school or how were your ACT/SAT test scores, what field do you want to go into, public or private college, urban or rural area, or get an online degree.
