Sex is something that should be conserved till marriage. Teens nowadays do not wait till marriage to have sex. Pregnancy, STD’s, and abuse are all effects of teens having sex, but what causes teens to be more sexually active today? Peer pressure, drugs, social media you name it, all of these cause teens to be more sexually active. Do you know how though? If not read these following paragraphs, because you do not want to miss what causes sexual activity in teens to increase.
Peer pressure is one of the biggest factors of teens being sexually active. With everyone trying to fit in at school, teens will do anything to fit in or be considered popular. Even if that means doing something that could potentially ruin their life. Collin Allen explains in Peer Pressure and Having Sex, that male teens feel more pressured than female teens to have sex (Bernstein). Male teens are usually pressured from their male friends about having sex. With the pressures of having sex that can result into an abusive relationship. Which that leads into another point about peer pressure from relationships. Being in a relationship, teens want to explore and do more sexual activities. With this being said, if one partner wants to do something, they could try and persuade their partner. Whether the partner is being clingy, extremely nice, or buying gifts it could be him trying to get what he wants.
