“Leading is about striving to become better than we are, and helping everything and everyone around us to become better too” Lolly Daskal. Through the Army Reserve Teen Panel (ARTP), I obtained knowledge to become a leader and mentor to those who are trying to balance a teenagers' and Army life. As an ARTP member, my leadership skills are utilized every step of the way. To begin, I led a group of 20 through various activities and lessons which allowed the youth of deployed soldiers to speak freely about the challenges they go through. Within the group, I created therapeutic bonds with many. At times, it became difficult since most of the youth would isolate themselves.
