I deeply enjoyed the open-minded approach that anthropologists were prone to utilize when learning about different peoples and cultures. Moreover, the fact that archaeology used physical remains in order to reconstruct past lifeways was much more satisfying that the “he said, she said” of today’s history books; modern archaeologist seem to operate on the notion that people from all time zones were still human beings and refused to turn them into the animalistic “savage” beings that are always depicted in media. The concept that, each item has a cultural significance and that each culture should be studied with an insider’s unclouded perspective resulted in me throwing myself into as many anthropology classes I
