In the article, it states,“The Ghanaian historian and lawyer, Mohamed Shaibu Abdulai, says Africa's loss of millions of the strongest men and women during the slave trade is one reason for this underdevelopment .”(Ross, Will) This evidence contributes to my reason because it shows that Africa lost many of their people which caused a huge decrease in population and some under development. This proves that slave trade had a huge negative impact on West Africa by taken most of their strongest people, killing most of them during the voyage and decreasing their population. If it weren’t for slave trade Africa’s population would have been doubled or increased by a lot. Another piece of evidence is, “Some estimate that without slavery the population of Africa would have been double the 25m it had reached by 1850.”(Ross, Will)This evidence tells me that some people think that the population of West Africa would have been greater, however, the population decreased causing some underdevelopment, since there weren't as many people before to help contribute to their village. Also, many African Americans would have probably been happier
