After the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series, several teams in the Major Leagues are looking for a better way to develop their rosters similar to the 2016 Champions. The key in doing so starts with changes in the front office and then the team manager. Those two positions need to be filled before you can even think about what players you need to work the system.
One of the teams that are looking to develop a roster similar to the Cubs is the Atlanta Braves. The Braves finished their 2016 season with a 68-93 record and missed the postseason for the third year in a row. Although the Braves did not have the 108 year curse to break, they have been the best team in Atlanta Sports for the past 25 years. The Braves are also the only team in

However, the recent addition of Sean Rodriquez will give the Braves a veteran presence at second base until Albies recovers from his elbow fracture.
The retirement of Hall of Fame Third Baseman, Chipper Jones at the end of the 2012 season was another huge hit to the organization. They are still in search for their new third baseman, but have been lucky with Adonis Garcia last season.
The Outfield is also full of Prospects and veterans that were added to the team by both John Hart and John Coppolella. Prospects like Mallex Smith and Ender Inciarte both lead the team in stolen bases and had some of the biggest defensive plays in the outfield. Nick Markakis and Matt Kemp were also added to the Braves within the last few years. Markakis came through free agency and Kemp was traded for before the trade deadline is past season.
This offseason has led to more inquiries for the future of the Braves organization. Veteran Pitchers R.A. Dickey and Bartolo Colon were added to the roster in hopes of having more time to develop the organizations prospect pitchers like Sean Newcomb and Lucas

Stephen Strasburg holds the most impressive record in the big leagues with a 13 – 0 record. He is undefeated up until this point with a 2.51 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 138 SO. Strasburg is right up with Kershaw in contention for the NL Cy Young Award, and the race will only get tighter as the season continues. Strasburg doesn’t look like declining anytime soon and neither does his team. The Nationals are riding a 5 game win streak and will probably finish on top of the NL East.…

So sadly baseball is not what it used to be. We can no longer rely on Runs Bated In (RBI), or even Home Runs (HR) to see how effective a batter is, and we cannot simply use Earn Run Average(ERA) and Strikeouts(K) to judge how good a pitcher is. You see, around 1977, this guy named Bill James wrote a book call Bill James’ Baseball Abstract”, and it changed everything. Over the first few years the book was out, it became increasingly popular with scout and GM. It was a lot easier for them to analysis a players stats so they could quickly determine whether or not they could make it in the big leagues.…

Money plays a substantial role in every aspect of life. It can either make life easier or it can make it much harder. In Michael Lewis’ book Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game, Lewis explains how a baseball team is run and the financial aspect of the game. Lewis relates how money is used by the Oakland Athletics in comparison to the other teams that have more money than them. The A’s didn’t have much money to work with, so they had to be creative and discover new ways to find the best quality players their money could buy.…

The Majors became more integrated and Negro Leagues ceased to exist in 1951. Minor league teams, farm teams, high school teams, and collegiate teams started to play a bigger role in baseball. On the other hand, these teams were not as popular or opportunity filled in the 20’s. Younger baseball players had many league options from travel team baseball, that has a chance to play different teams across the nation, to school baseball, which plays different teams in their region. The Majors now produce star baseball players like Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw.…
