An Athletic Trainer is a healthcare professional, who works hand in hand with physicians in their district, performs emergency care, clinical diagnosis, and rehabilitation for sports related injuries. Out of one hundred sixty-six people who took part in a survey dealing with concussion awareness, ninety-five percent of them felt a full time Athletic Trainer who attends practices as well as games and events, is more beneficial than the Athletic Trainers who only attend games (Dunning). In cases involving schools who only have the resources to staff one athletic trainer, there are usful alternatives to make sure the sports running concurrently are covered.
