What did I learn from our great athletic trainer from school? Well I’ll be discussing new concepts I learned, if it influences on my future career, any task that I could do, the answers to my questions, and any other information. The truth is I learned many necessary skills to be an athletic trainer in the future. I will be thinking of being an athletic trainer for college. I really know if I put my mind to anything I can succeed. First, I observed what Shannon does for her job and also Rebecca. I got to witness the tape job Shannon was doing on a basketball player on his ankle. There was a basketball game and our junior varsity beat Grand forks, but our Varsity couldn’t pull it off. I was also able to witness a cheerleader injuring herself and was rushed into the athletic trainer’s room. I also noticed many interesting performances from the acrobat team.
New concepts I learned was being an athletic trainer can be stressful with all the bottles that need to be filled. Also with having the risk of an athlete getting hurt and being there to take care of them. This has influenced my future career greatly by making me might take the route of being an athletic trainer and doing four years of college. They tend to put in more work than they are compensated for. Athletic trainers can be stressed also though because once one problem is fixed, the next issue comes up. Athletic trainer’s also have to compromise their beliefs and make changes to their decisions. The importance is that no matter what the athletic trainer is the first one to be at the scene and has to make choices.
