The average athletic scholarship is about 10,400 dollars and only four college level sports offer full scholarships (“U.S. News & World Report”). Athletic Scholarships are given to students for their great performance in athletics in order to pay for some or all of their studies and often times many more things in college. Colleges offer athletes scholarships to try and get the athlete they want to go to their school and represent their school in sports competitions, practices, and just around the campus in all of the athletic gear they get. Some athletes try harder in their extracurricular activities like football and basketball more than they do in school activities.
