One of the most controversial issues among athletes is performance-enhancing drugs. For many years, athletes have attempted to improve their performance by using various methods. One way in which athletes attempt to strive to become superior by experimenting with drugs that would increase strength and quickness. Athletes should not be able to use Performance-Enhancing drugs because it is bad for the human body and unfair to the athletes that do not take them. Any steroids should not be taken unless a doctor has prescribed them. Steroids are harmful for the human body. Anabolic steroids have many effects on the human body. Some side effects include: acne, baldness, and voice changes. Females have side effects too, they get a deeper voice and their breasts reduce in size. People say that sports are more dangerous than taking steroids, yet we continue to play them. Steroids have been a big issue in baseball, but not much in football. Steroids are a bigger issue in baseball because it gives more strength to hit the ball further and swing the bat faster. People do not realize the damage that steroids are causing. They do not realize how bad steroids affect the human body. Anabolic steroids will always be around. .“Hypothetically, there’s a good chance that taking anabolic steroids will have a chance to make you faster and quicker (robinson).” Steroids can make you into a superhuman and that would be awesome but the side effects are not worth it, People die from taking steroids so instead of taking them, you could work hard on your own. When you stop taking steroids your body will turn into fat and it is hard to get your body back into shape. steroids will change your body forever. Drug testing only can be used for certain type of steroids. some cannot be detected by using the peeing form.
