Many people believe in role models. However, there are many people who do not believe in role models. Athletes are role models, even though many find that they are not good role models. Athletes are some of the best role models that you can find out in the real world. A role model is someone that a person can look up to and analyze for support. I do believe that athletes are role models. Many kids and other people look up to athletes for support. Let's face it you are more likely to meet your role model if it is an athlete rather than an actor or actress. For example, if a young child likes baseball and wants to become a professional baseball player and likes the New York Yankees the might consider Brett Gardner. He is a great role model to look up to and is a good inspiration to many. Gardner was not that great of a baseball player in his younger days. Now that he is around the age of 30 he is one of the better players defensively and offensively. The outfield is not the easiest position to play but he gets the job done and does it well. He has been to the all-star game, he is a gold glove winner, and has won many other awards to. He had to work his way up, it did not come overnight. Majority of professional baseball started playing when they were very young and with t-ball. If a young child is playing t-ball and is not good they can find a role model like Brett Gardner himself. For example, Alex Rodriguez is a retired professional baseball player. Now that he is retired from the New York Yankees he has become a special advisor. He loved his job so much that he could not stay home in Miami and be involved in baseball. He is currently working with the young players in the minor leagues getting them ready for the major leagues. This is an example of a great role model. This is an example of a great role model because it can provide courage, inspiration, and moral support. If a child is playing a sport and absolutely loves it to he gets in a rough stop and second doubts himself. They can look up to Alex Rodriguez as a role model who absolutely loves playing and being involved in baseball, but has got into many rough spots. When he got into these rough spots he has overcome them and work out of them. If you are really struggling in something but you love it you need to look up to someone like Alex Rodriguez who continued through those rough spots and overcame it and have him as your role model. Personally, when I was younger and started playing baseball I looked up to Alex Rodriguez as my role model for inspiration.
