Always with her helmet, armor and sphere Athena was born as the daughter of Zeus and Metis. Her mother was the goddess of wisdom and her father was the king of the gods with the strong blood of the Titans. Zeus, when Metis was conceived with Athena, swallowed Metis along with the child. Zeus’ effort of getting rid of the child didn’t work and Athena was born from Zeus’ head. Athena was born with wisdom from her mother and power from her father. Athena, like all the women also had to go through puberty. When she was in this stage of her life, she was insecure and shy about her giganticness and excess amount of muscle building up on her body. She wanted to be ladylike just like her mother and blamed her dad for giving her the body she has. As she matured, she learned to be confident in her own skin and embraced her body and her strength. This allowed her to become one of the greatest goddess and go beyond her limits. Athena’s feelings for Poseidon never disappeared and she went up to him one day and asked him to keep his promise. Poseidon, being the greatest jerk told Athena that he will not marry her whatsoever because he doesn’t see her as a woman due to her manly figures and power. In addition to this, Poseidon cursed Athena about how no one will ever truly love her due to her manliness. As soon as Athena heard this, the sudden burst of anger created lighting in her and allowed her to let out an uncontrollable lightning. Athena, being the daughter of Zeus was well capable of making lightning. This didn’t stop Athena from not liking Poseidon but she wanted to avenge him for making her feel pathetic.
