All through the Epic The Odyssey Athena is easily portrayed helping, or even saving Odysseus on his travel home to Ithaca. Straightaway in the Telemachia Athena is shown begging Zeus to let Odysseus leave the Island of Ogygia. Where he is being held captive by Calypso. Ultimately he gets released and starts his journey home. While at sea Poseidon sends a storm to screw up Odysseus’s journey. Then while in the storm Athena calms the wind, and makes him drift toward Scheria. Where he will receive more help from Athena. Soon after Athena puts Odysseus in a mist and Athena, disguised as a little girl, leads Odysseus to the palace of King Alcinous.
