However, it is known that people who don’t have the faith in God, know more about the Bible than a person who goes to church every Sunday and Wednesday. They use that as an advantage to knock us down, rather than we help them up. For example, according to the Pew Research Center, “In the 2014 Religious Landscape Study, self-identified atheists were asked how often they share their views on God and religion with religious…

What my husband's advancement to Chief Petty Officer means to me? The answer of that question could be 10 pages long or I could just resume what I feel in one word, "extremely proud", well I guess two words. I met Christian 16 years ago, he was full of energy, funny, and he had the ability to turn any sad or bad situation into a joke making everybody laugh; that is what make me fell in love with him. On the other hand, he was a little immature, unfocused when it comes to work, and nothing seemed to fulfill his expectations. I always knew that his passion was a career in the military, but that was out of question in my book!…

Growing up, my family and I weren’t very religious by any means. My parents grew up in Catholic families, but when they moved away from their families, they moved away from God too. Every time we were stationed in a new place, my parents always blamed not going to church on the military and how we would always be moving. My sister and I didn’t mind this, because we didn’t really know what church was, and didn’t understand the meaning of it, but when we moved to Louisiana in 2012, I met a friend that would change this. I met this girl Samantha, who seemed to be in a few of my classes.…

I believe that religious believers find comfort in their religion and belief. However, I also believe that even an atheist may find comfort, perhaps not in the same God or divinity as a religious person believes, but in actual facts, apart from an atheistic belief. The differences between Warren and Dennett are the way they view religion. Warren believes that every human being should base his whole life on in serving other and what the Bible said, while Dennett thinks that every human being should learn about all types of religion and that one can live a wonderful life while learning to see the Religion with real facts, not just base in what determinate religion said or book…

“Set your affections on things above; love one another; commune at the table of our Lord in one spirit; worship in spirit and in truth; and if daily adoring, imploring, and living the divine Life, Truth, Love, thou shalt partake of the bread that cometh down from heaven, drink of the cup of salvation, and be baptized in Spirit,” wrote Mary Baker Eddy in 1898 (Christian Science Versus Pantheism). Mrs. Eddy (as she is colloquially referred to by her followers) was the woman who came to found the Christian Science religion, based on the metaphysical New Thought movement, in 1879 (Christian Science, “What is Christian Science?”). For individuals who are born into the modern Christian Science church, understanding the concept of “divinity” in the…

People can know God without Scripture, however; it is most likely to be in a distorted or suppressed sense. People can know of God’s existence and salvation, but their viewpoint is limited. The understanding apart from God is limited due to sin. Sin causes a warped and hampered sense of God. The Bible has mentioned the wise who are actually foolish because they do not believe, those who can not see so they do not believe, and the scales on the eyelids.…

Grade D Assignment Belief, such a strong word to describe ones self-perception. Belief to me is structuring one’s own perception to seek accuracy for self understanding, but one’s beliefs system is learned. A person’s belief system is learned because for me, I would not believe in what I believe in if it wasn 't for the social and cultural environment I was raised upon. The social and cultural environment shapes my perspective on how I view what is right from wrong, how I see what normal and what is seen as taboo to me. This perception of belief has created an understanding on the criminal justice system for myself.…

There are many types of religions in the world, all in which different cultures believe in. It is one thing to be raised and taught to believe in a “God” but it is an other thing when that “God” is proven real. Many people believe in a “higher power” but do not want to classify that “higher power” so that it does not change their lifestyle or their behaviour. Humans like to be comfortable in their own skin, with their own beliefs, therefore, they will try and convince themselves in what they believe is real for their own comfort. In that case, couldn 't that be very scary if they are wrong?…
