Rights for the People of Atheism

People should not have a say in what someone else’s religion can and cannot be, someone should be able to chose to be Atheist without the fear of someone else criticizing them. There are a few good points to justify why Atheists are just like other people: Atheists can be “happy, balanced, moral, and intellectually fulfilled,” Atheist can teach people Ethics and such, Secularism can be good for the country if taken properly, and Evolution is Proven and Accepted.

Atheists can be “Happy, Balanced, Moral, and Intellectually Fulfilled.”

Since most humans are “dependent on God for salvation,” human beings themselves are incapable of achieving moral virtue (Baltimore). So people are too reliant of God to go and

Catholics once again wait for God to make conditions improve for them instead of going and making things better for themselves. Where Atheists would be the first to jump on an opportunity to better their own conditions. Another good point is that Atheists aren’t held down by some things that Catholics are. Some of these things consist of sin, redemption, and salvation. Atheists can get more things done without having to worry about sinning and then trying to get redemption for that sin. Atheist people aren’t at all bad people they are just like everyone else. And not all Atheists hate God, they just lack the belief of a God.(see fig. …show more content…
In some points secularism, I believe can be better than original views of the government. such as keeping religion out of political debates. “In Politics, Religion is an elevated subject. And most of the time Atheists or Agnostics are pretty much ignored” (Niose). It could make the elections and viewpoints be more balanced, and keep politicians on the subjects of more important matters. According to some data, 54% of Americans would vote in an Atheist president. Although it would be a little weird not hearing a president saying “One nation under God”. Unlike some older generations, the generation of now are more skeptical to think of other matters above religion. and instead of trying to explain yourself in the matters of Birth Control, Abortion, Etc. you can simply reply with I’m atheist. Another great point is Evolution.

Evolution is Proven and Accepted “Most people who oppose Evolution, Natural Selection, is because they believe that is all based upon chance” (Dawkins). And they aren’t entirely wrong, because it is somewhat based on chance. We cannot choose how we are going to adapt or change. But, we do know that we change in ways that makes surviving in our area easier. Such as that our jaws used to much bigger and fit more teeth, but since we have been able to cook and soften food, our jaws have gotten smaller and our teeth have gotten

A person could argue that god is a general term, and it could be said that god could mean all gods or indicate all faiths as opposed to just one, but acknowledging the idea of god at all does not account for atheism. Atheism is, “a lack of belief or a strong disbelief in the existence of a god or any gods”. Atheists do not believe in god and, therefore, the words, “under god,” do not represent them. There is undoubtedly a significant portion of the United States that does not believe in god or gods. Pew and Gallup, two of the most distinguished polls in America, both came to the similar conclusion that, “about 10 percent of Americans say they do not believe in God,” and that, “this figure has slowly been creeping up over the…

“The Godless Constitution” illustrates how the Constitution created a secular state. The author states an argument upon the idea of “separation and church”. The argument relates to the point that the creation of a godless constitution was not an act of irreverence, rather it was an act of confidence in religion. The founders of this nation wanted to regard the mixing and politics. Therefore, government matters is not neutral in religious and moral matters.…

However, it is known that people who don’t have the faith in God, know more about the Bible than a person who goes to church every Sunday and Wednesday. They use that as an advantage to knock us down, rather than we help them up. For example, according to the Pew Research Center, “In the 2014 Religious Landscape Study, self-identified atheists were asked how often they share their views on God and religion with religious…

First Amendment and Religious Expression The first amendment is forgotten about and most of the time not cared about in the real world. Back in the day, people could express how they wanted and what they wanted. But now a-days, its like you cant even step outside without getting judged, someone hating you or being offended by what you are displaying or doing. In some cases, the court has agreed with the victim and in others, they have disagreed with them.…

We are one of the few countries that does not have a national religion. This allows a person to try out any religion without being ostracized or attacked for ones beliefs. Now what if the pledge did not exist or the star spangled banner, what if we were not allowed to display our flags for fear of insulting someone. We are being forced to hide what we believe, whether it be religion, marriage beliefs, life choices, our views on abortion, free health care, or the death penalty. Now one could argue is not that limiting our rights to freedom of speech, or even turning the establishment clause, that we may not exercise our beliefs in God because the Atheists do not agree with what we believe.…

The letter to the editor document exhibited some very biased opinions on immigration, American culture and cultural immersion in America. The author of this letter stated that the view of a multicultural America “has served only to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity”. I suggest the author meant that a multicultural American has weakened the United States political power or sovereignty and the identity of America. Although that is not necessarily true, America is considered the “Melting Pot” among all of the one hundred and ninety-six countries. America is known as the melting pot because America welcomes people from all walks of life, it is not a matter of where they come from, what they believe in or the color of their skin,…

However, if a religious organization is established, it cannot participate in any political activities. Countries such as The Czech Republic, United Kingdom, Germany, and France have a large population of people who reject belief in God. Numerous surveys are taken to try to determine why there is such a high rate of secularism in the world. Some of the surveys are attributing it to higher standards of living, social safety nets; people don’t seek assistance from the churches, surprisingly education, and conversations about augments against the existence of God.…

When Americans first came to the new world they came with religious purpose. Now, whether or not each person today in the United States wishes to acknowledge that fact is up to oneself. Freedom of religion has come to mean something different in these past few years: instead of tolerance, we have become anti associated. Instead of allowing religion to exist in America we are now all together anti-religion. It is now offensive is someone prays during lunch but its not when the atheist refuses to respect the student participating in chapel.…

“It is no the strongest of species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” This quote was once said by the father of evolution himself, Charles Darwin who spent his life’s work on learning all he can about evolution. In the world we live in all organisms change, and were not the same thousands of years ago as they are today. There are two main theories to this process; scientific theory and religious theory.…
