Athanasia, the Greek Goddess of Destiny and Inevitability, is the daughter of Ananke (the Greek goddess of necessity and compulsion) and Janus (the Roman god of beginnings, transitions and endings). Ananke was driven mad by her daughters, the three Fates (Moirae), after she betrayed them by stealing their Thread of Life under the effects of the goddess Hera. She injured many deities. She was punished and sent to a deserted castle, where she would have to marry a beast. Ananke wasn’t allowed to see the beast (because he was so horrifying), so the beast only showed up at night. One night while they were sleeping in their bed, Ananke was tempted to look at his face. She was visited by the Roman god of decisions, Janus, who was sent to help her make the decision of looking at his face or not, but instead, he fell in love with Ananke immediately. So, Ananke ditched her horrible husband and went off with Janus. They ran off into the forest and...well, use your imagination. She has very strong beliefs about how the future should not be altered. Athanasia’s weaknesses include incredibly sensitive hearing, barely being able to speak (and if she does, it’s only in Greek) and she cannot physically touch anything. Since Athanasia is a Seer, and her eyesight is absolutely astounding, her other senses have sort of drowned out over the

It began more than forty thousand years ago and some of the spiritual theories and beliefs are as ancient as the Europeans themselves. The common language with this religion was Old Norse, spoken in ancient Scandinavia, in which most of the texts were written. The gods of Olympus play a large role of Greek religion, and is shown thoroughly in the epic poem and epic film. Although a similarity between the two versions is that the bright-eyed goddess Athena is in favour of Odysseus and through all her might aids him on his journey home, there is also a difference in these occurring scenes. In the poem written by Homer, Athena along with other great gods are often involving themselves with the lives of mortals, but only when in disguise. An example of this is set earlier in the poem; Athena wishes to urge depressed Prince Telemachus to search for his father, but she does so by disguising herself as an old friend named Mentes. This is in complete contrast in the film as Athena often reveals her true identity to Odysseus, although she has a choice in who can see her.…
