Using the most the most comprehensive telescope ever created astronomers have found that the universe is slowly dying. By looking at a lot of data, 200,000 galaxies in 21 wavelengths, they have found out that our universe was producing two times the amount of energy 2 billion years ago, in comparison to today. Eventually our universe with be cold, empty, darkness, but we do not have to worry because scientists suspect that our sun will burn out long before our universe does. The area of science that this article would fall under would be astronomy because it has to deal with things that are outside of our atmosphere. This article is very important because it is telling us what is going to happen in our future. Although we do not know when, we know that it is coming, but the odds are that none of us on Earth now will live to see it happen, so we do not need to worry. …show more content…
I thought it was interesting, and scary at the same time that our universe will come to an end some day, and then there will be nothing left. This article also makes me curious, I wonder if when the universe does end if people will find a way to sustain life without anything to support us, or if we are all just doing to dye out, is it all going to slowly shut down, or is it going to all die at once. Will people find a way to stop this from occurring. This article makes me wonder about many things, and I hope that astronomers do more research to find out more about this

Only white dwarfs were left and they too were starting to fade. Man knew that eventually everything will come to an end. He asked the Cosmic AC if entropy can be reversed but it still had insufficient data to provide a meaningful answer. Man commanded it to collect data but the Cosmic AC said that it has been doing so for a hundred billion years and that it has been asked the same question many times already. Man asked the Cosmic AC if the problem of entropy is insoluble in all conceivable circumstances.…

I recently finished reading a published compilation of essays that you have written called “Death by Black Hole.” Before I read this book, I understood how big the universe was and how dangerous it was to an extent, but after reading this book my horizons have been broadened and I look at things differently than before. After reading your book, I was intrigued by your works and wanted to learn more about the universe. I then proceeded to watch all of the episodes of “Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey” so I could soak up as much information as possible. Your essays paired with “Cosmos” has changed my worldview entirely.…

Astronomy is an ongoing process. It is always changing and improving as we discover new stellar objects and use more advanced technology. For example, people once believed that the Earth was flat, and the sun and other planets orbited around us. As we advanced in technology, we proved both of these ideas to be false. Even today there is still work to be done, ideas and theories to confirm and disprove, and plenty of other things to explore.…

Last autumn I found myself among the mountains of Tibet, wandering through the high desert created by the rain shadow of the mighty Himalayas, looking up at the cascade of unblinking stars that stretched across the night sky. The stars, in their steady glow, revealed a rather strange sight that I could best describe as being both disturbing and fascinating at the same time. It felt like they were giving me an exclusive window to look at the inner workings of the world and everything in it. According to the scientific community, the universe began its "life" roughly 14 billion years ago when space, time and even the atoms in our bodies formed in less than a blink of an eye.…

One observation of the 20th century is that the universe is expanding. This expansion basically says that the universe was smaller, denser and hotter in the past. In the beginning of the article, the author asked a scientific question and wondered if we are alone in universe. Furthermore, she emphasized that there is alien life out of our solar system. However, the author didn’t provide good evidence to her readers to prove her claims. I think this amount of money is a waste to spend on this research, because there are no reliable scientists that have clues to support her argument. Besides, I do not think that the author is right…

The Hot bang and the Ageless Universe are two different theories that explain the existence of the universe. No one can prove that both these theories are real because we do not have real evidence to back it up. We do not have a strong idea on how the universe came to be because we did not exist to actually see it but when it comes to the steady-state theory, the facts are more understandable than the proof behind the Hot bang theory. I believe the most supportable theory is the Ageless Universe because the facts are more concrete and it is not difficult to support and prove.…

In the TED speech Can we prevent the end of the world, the speaker Martin Rees expresses his worries and concerns on the future of human-beings. In his opinion, there is an urgent need for human-beings to prevent the destruction of the world since the biggest dangers leading to the end of world are the behaviors of human beings instead of natural disasters. To prevent the end of the world, he suggests research and human intervention is necessary to mitigate the existential risk of human extinction with the prevention center established in the University of Cambridge as an example. Also he contends that with scientific advance and forward movement of human society, it brings us more risks and harms than benefits. He predicts that biotechnology will be misused and even abused in the near future to bring human beings unimaginative harms.…

The New York Times article goes into detail about a heated debate of whether or not our Human DNA is junk or not. Although valid points are made from both sides, throughout the article there was a tendency where scientists agreed at some degree that some of the non-coding DNA is junk. Some of the views that the article focuses on are aligned in broad spectra of agreement whether or not most of our DNA is complete garbage. Scientists like Ryan Gregory agreed that complexity of an organism is irrelevant to its genome, because most of DNA (about 98.8 percent) is noncoding DNA, where most of it does nothing for humans but just takes up space. Other scientists refute the idea that noncoding DNA is not important and they alluded to the fact that a lot of noncoding DNA is essential to our survival and development.…
