Film as we know it is a 20th century phenomenon, a combination of scenes that together tell a story. Yet, despite the simplicity of this creation, film has the ability to bring people from different cultures and social classes together. Through his adventures, Chris McCandless the protagonist of Into the Wild, ventures into the wild, abandoning his education and his family. The character development, acting, soundtrack, and visuals all complement each other consistently throughout the film showing me - and people all over the world, how thin the line is between being a visionary or an egotist. Sean Penn uses a well-written script to form a good conflict, plot, and dialog and in effect, makes Into the Wild an astounding film.
