Due to confidentiality, I will not mention this individuals name but instead refer to him as “this child.” Based on this child’s IEP, he has been identified as having global developmental delay accompanied by visual deficits. I think the assistive technologies the teachers use with this child are effective for his level. By using tangible objects with the partial object cards, he is able to select the desired toy he wants to play with. Since he is visually impaired, the teachers take into consideration the placement of the object cards and makes sure neither is in his full view to sway his decision in any way. I also think by using the Step-by-Step, he is able to hear the voice output, which helps him use words to communicate his own thoughts, even though he cannot verbalize the words himself. It was also very effective that the teacher modified the Twin Talk during the group lesson on the color green. Since this child is visually impaired and would not have been able to see through the plastic and identify his choices on the Twin Talk, by attaching wax strips, he was able to match the symbols with their meaning and communicate to the class whether he liked the object, or if he
