Assisted suicide must be legal in Iowa. “The term assisted suicide refers to the practice of a physician prescribing legal drugs that allow terminally ill patients to end their own lives” (At issue: Assisted Suicide). It is illegal in Iowa right now, but it is legal in five states. “After numerous appeals, the case went to the Supreme Court in 2006 where the Court upheld the law. Washington State legalized assisted suicide in 2008, and the State of Montana legalized it in 2010” (At issue: Assisted Suicide). Is it really worth it to fight everything you have for your life and suffer every day if you feel as if your death is coming soon anyways? You are the only one with control over how peacefully you live your life, so should the government have the power to regulate how you want it to end? Shouldn’t it be your decision to die if you feel as if your death is soon anyways?
