The undertaking of the assisted suicide is no different from a doctor prescribing a patient a medication. The aim of this 'prescription' is to allow a patient with a terminal illness to choose when and how they pass away. The effect of the drug is that when the patient takes the drug it puts them in a deep sleep and stops their heart. If this opportunity was given to Mrs. Seales she would have died a peaceful death. If the drug used doesn’t cause any pain and is taken by the patient without help, how can it be related to homicide? This counters the argument that assisted suicide is murder. This is because the physician is doing nothing except providing the drug. This argument has been used by many Physicians such as Jack Kevorkian to avoid prosecution after helping their patients reach a peaceful end. An example used to describe this is when a car manufacturer provides a car to someone who drives drunk.
