A. My Personal Code of Ethics
1.My Value System: There are many things that I value in my life. Through this section of my personal code of ethics, I will present each value in order of its priority of importance to me.
Religion: It provides me with the spirituality that I need to maintain a healthy mental and physical lifestyle. I find that many practices in my religion help enrich my mind and body as well. For example, praying five times a day is an opportunity for me to meditate and slow down the fast pace of life. Praying is not limited to the soul only, it also involves the body as well. My Moral Character: I don 't believe my moral character is good or bad. I don 't believe I can judge myself in regards to my moral character. It might be unjust to give myself credit for what I don 't really have. On the other hand, I may be judging my moral character harshly if I were to determine if it’s good or bad. Therefore, I think my moral character is neither good or bad, but it can be modified and improved constantly. My idea of integrity is to be transparent with myself and other people as well. Being transparent with myself allows me to be honest and clear about the motivations of my actions. It enables me to notice and acknowledge my own biases towards certain topics and people. On the other hand, being transparent with others means to be as clear and honest in my interactions with them as possible. The value of ethics can not be measured numerically as it goes beyond numbers. Ethics have a great positive impact on my life in guiding me towards behaving morally and looking into the different situations I encounter mindfully. Ethics contribute greatly to my happiness. When making decisions that are motivated ethically, I generally find that it leads to positive outcomes. Whereas, when I base my decisions on unethical standards it often leads me to feel negatively about any given situation and eventually leads to unhappiness. For example, lying to my family and friends would make me feel bad at any given situation, and it may lead to undesired consequences, that’s why I try to avoid it. Based on the example I provided, I think I could never live a happy life without trying to be ethical. It would cause me to feel very unsatisfied about my decisions, and it would decrease the level of joy and happiness in my
