Formal or Informal Assignment: Since the 1C5 Career Field Manager is not releasing any MSgts from the career field this year you should continue to pursue your near-term goal of becoming the AWDC Superintendent at Nellis AFB. You are an AWDC graduate and your time in the control and reporting center over these past few years has armed you with the knowledge, experience, and credibility to successfully lead the course to bigger and better things. This is a critical time for the AWDC because the syllabus is under review and the US Air Force Weapons School is considering a big transformation to a “Weapons Instructor Course.” This would provide current and future enlisted graduates with the same credibility and prestige as their officer counterparts.
