For instance, the classroom portfolio “is organized around the 10 standards” (NAEYC, 2016, p. 2). Also, the Family Survey assists to gather the family’s perspective on specific criteria. The benefit of using their survey is that we can adapt the survey questions and use them as springboard for discussion with parents and family members (NAEYC, 2016, p. 2). For example, I will adapt some of the question to obtain information regarding their child’s social-emotional development. This resource specifically relates to the plan I am writing because it contains step by set by step guidance. Each column assists in ensuring that you are accurately completing the information. For instance, I am able to input information about the Third-Party Endorsement System the date I plan to complete it (Robertson & Dressler, 2010, p. 219). Also, I am able to input the data I actually complete it and any follow-Up notes. This resource will assist in organizing the information I gather and ensuring that I set a plan for completing the assessment tools. What I also liked about this resource is that it is simple to use but still beneficial to ensuring that I stay on task.
One of the questions that were asked of us in The Program Manager’s Guide to Evaluation was “What can be done to ensure the effectiveness of instruments and procedures?” (OPRE, 2010, p. 71). The Self-Study planning and Progress Checklist will assist me to record how long it takes to complete interviews, extract information from records, and fill out forms in a timely manner.
