I have decided to open a little pastry café, “Sophia’s Delights”, on a corner of the suburbs of down town Arnold, Pennsylvania. This location had been chosen because it seems to be a quant suburban city, with its population being approximately 5,147 people. But the population has slowly decreased from 2010-2011, but with their being a large percentage of people living in the same house for longer than a year, that being about 79%, hopefully that in time the population will start to increase because of people starting to have families or having more kids and such. With that statistic being pointed out I intend on having dependable

I have noticed there to be about 1 or 2 locations that are slightly similar to my store within a ten mile radius, which means that I need to do something different to make my store stand out from the rest of the competition. But also I know of one bakery that is close in the next town over that is really known that will be my competition. It seems to me that opening a store that pertains to food is a good choice because it seems like going out to eat is the main spending habit residents in this area have. (Quick …show more content…
According to my research murders and arson aren’t anything to worry about; these crimes are practically nonexistent in this city, and rape is on the board but is very low so again nothing to really worry about. Burglary is something to stress about, this can’t be avoided in any location, because it is everywhere. In Arnold, burglary was at its highest rate in 2008 and in 2009 but in 2011 it made its decrease and still decreasing as we speak. Theft is another crime to be concerned about; in 2008 it was at its highest peak. But with the years to follow the rate of theft has slowly started to decreased, and hopefully it continues down that path.

It is made clear in “Models, Mobals, and Migration” that demographics and geographics are ever-changing. Regardless of any type of professor or scientist’s credibility, any type of logical prediction will become outdated at some point in the future to come. De Blij uses geologist Arthur Howard’s rejection of the Pangea Theory, political scientist David Apter’s far miss of prediction of Africa’s future, biologist Paul Ehlrich’s neo-Malthusianism, and scientist Nigel Calder’s proposal of a self-cooling planet which happens to be a polar-opposite to the global warming controversy in global society. By simply viewing the Demographic Transition Model (DTM) that is accepted and used by geographers internationally, you can observe how demographic…

Reading one Question: 1) Why was the social classification of race invented? Race being the social classification in which we distinguish one another by our ethnic and or regional background, enables us to not only create, but uphold systematic social status throughout the world. As proven through scientific research, race is not a substantive concept, but rather an unfounded concept that has been used to separate the human race overtime. This being the case, race was invented to create social class ranks; which sanctioned the appalling treatment of non-whites throughout the past couple of centuries. Is Afrocentrism a response to racism?…
