· Meet the standard before striving to exceed the standard. Understand your role before questioning the course of action. Do not delegate responsibility, always carry your own weight, work smarter not harder. Look for humor in all situations and be willing to compromise.

Holding formation during unfavorable times of the day to execute a complicated plan is an unnecessary evil. However, the Army is not perfect. In the event we are holding that formation in the rain at zero dark thirty, keep calm and soldier on.
ONESELF
· What is my forte? How am I most effective? What about my evaluation? BLUF, it does not matter, refine, refine, refine, refine and refine again. Focus on improving the skills you do possess and take pride in the tasks you may or may not be given; no matter how important or minuscule they may seem. Being reliable is the most effective method of contribution.
PREDICTIBILITY
· Naturally, people are not resilient. People prefer to know what to expect in most settings and at most times. Predictability enables preparation. BLUF, the Army is not exactly a career choice with foresight; you can be in Hawaii today and Texas tomorrow. You will be given as much predictability as possible, regardless of the circumstances, act prudently and prepare yourself to be successful when your number is called on
