Assignment 1: Self Assessment

I took the following self-assessment exams:
Chapter 13: I received a score of 14 for networking ability and a score of 23 for social astuteness. I do have a need to further develop my networking abilities based on the assessment results, and I believe there is always room to improve on social astuteness as well. For the second aspect considered, I definitely believe I can read a room well. I will look to first address who my audience is, and will direct a response accordingly. I feel in my professional development it is a very important skill to develop, and will aide itself to network abilities as well.
Chapter 14: I earned a score of 30 for initiating structure, and a score of 35 for consideration. I also agree with this assessment. I try to always play an active role in team assignments and projects. However, I usually try and walk a fine line between dominating the discussion and being an active member. It feels like many group projects, the responsibility of the team at-large allows some members to justify not participating in their greatest capacity. Usually the logo is simply to promote the product or service. I cannot personally think of deeper meaning behind these logos, and have spent the last couple days reaching out to a couple people associated with the companies and asked if they had known any special connection – they had not either. This is general across many places I have worked, but there is always a group of people who are motivated to get things done, aligned with the overall mission of the firm.
