NNT Data provides a cloud based service for data storage and as such regularly updates and maintains the software. The nurses use the eMAR to chart narcotic pain medications and the paper narc book(s) to track the physical count of the drugs. There are 4 computers set up permanently at each nurse’s station that are set up for the nurses to use to complete their charting and for processing orders. Rated a 3/10 for user friendliness, there is no hard confirmation of a completed med pass, just a row of check boxes. The system doesn’t keep track of PRN dosing schedules and will allow for a dose to be administered before it is legally allowed or due to be given within the parameters of a PRN. NetSolutions will only show one diagnosis or appointment at a time, it will not make a laundry list, so that we, the nurses can get a good idea of what the broad overview of a patient’s medical history. The system also lacks a way to identify each patient by sight, so there is no picture to assist a visiting nurse who they should be medicating and to indicate if a person’s medpass is complete.
