Assignment 1: New Athletic Scenarios

Scenario One I would suggest the new athletic director to inform the booster on how money is allocated within the athletic budget which is essential for operating all programs. I would inquire what his reason for not giving money to the general athletic fund and softball team. I would emphasize the importance of making a contribution where each student-athlete will have the opportunity to participate without the worrisome of financial burden. Depending on financial situations, I believe all student-athletes parents should make a required contribution based on their income. Purchasing new uniforms can uplift participant morale versus the old uniforms which can bring low morale. Once the problem is identified, then the athletic director can move forward to reach the best solution to generate support for girls club. Knowing that each team has its own booster club, the athletic director can inform all teams she plans to incorporate one booster club for all sports where funds can be dispersed equally so all teams can have decent uniforms and sufficient equipment that’s passable for usage. The importance of girls sports receiving support will help with their development and build confidence through community involvement.

Scenario Three I would suggest the athletic director to meet all the parents involved and thank them personally for organizing a new booster club to help raise funds towards the athletic programs. The money collected can be divided equally on a need basis for teams with inadequate equipment and old uniforms. Utilizing this method can ensure that funds will be distributed equally amongst all teams on a need basis.
