Drug Trafficking and Organized Crime

We usually would immediately think of the Mafia when we say gangs organized criminal groups, and this is because the vast majority of time they are mentioned in documentaries, news and they are best known from our knowledge because we are taught about them. Although we talk about the Mafia more and they are much more popularized it has come down to the fact that in North America we have almost every national and ethnic group in which almost every society has been or still is involved in organized Crime, this may consist of people from ethnic groups such as the Irish, Jewish, Chinese, Somali, and much more ethically-recruited or center crime gangs. Organized Crime groups are known to usually be together and work as a group but their are also group where their are members who may be in different location to help enhance their strategies and get their way of transporting drugs. Groups can consist of people who live in locations where they have different method of transportation allowing them to be able to transport narcotics such as for example "Traffickers in Quebec ride snowmobile in the winter and all-terrain vehicles in the summer, British Columbia make use of their helicopters and boats." "Indian reservations that straddle the border, allowing residents to pass freely into either country, are particularly porous. Almost 20% of narcotics that are smuggled from Canada pass through Mohawk Reservation and the main reason is these types of location were not secured which give traffickers a large advantage to be able to smuggle in and out of the country also because of the fact that as the Government bring more security to various locations due to the fact that majority of the time these location are exposed of being secured Organized crime gang become more aware and much more clever as to where and when they import and export narcotic making it much more beneficial to them. Drug trafficking has been one of the highest type of organized crime which many gangs have been associated with due to Canada high revenue in the import and export drug market. The Canadian black market is valued for about 77 billion dollars 57% of it solely being dedicated to drug trafficking.
