I was nominative chosen to become company commander for Rio Grande recruiting company, San Antonio recruiting battalion in early 2012. I had successfully completed a HHD command while assigned under a transportation battalion during my previous tour in Germany. It was not professionally necessary for me to put my name in the hat for another command billet. However, when the opportunity presented itself, I had no hesitation going full deliberate speed to put myself in the commander’s seat once more. My peers recounted several negative / unpleasant experiences to me during their time assigned to US Army Recruiting Command but still that did not influence me. So many land mines recruiters need to avoid such as but not limited to relationships
