Ranging from sex discrimination (Goldman, 2010), to age discrimination (McElroy, 2014) and disability discrimination (U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, 2014), Wal-Mart employees persistently allege that the retail giant engages in discriminatory employment practices. The organization I volunteered for was one I have been a part of since 9th grade and is one that is present at this school, the organization is called Tree Huggers. The group was created by Mrs. Condrey during 2012 with the intentions of starting a recycling program around the school since before the Tree Huggers came into existence the school has not partaken in recycling. Now that the organization is active around the school, the school and its students are more adamant about recycling. The organization generally meets each Thursday after school in Mrs. Condrey’s room and goes around the entire school with recycling bins, black garbage bags, and a big wagon to recycle everything from paper to batteries. The entire process depends upon how much students show up, for example ever since this year began up to twenty kids have been helping out so the process takes about 30 minutes, but I remember times last year where me and my sister would be the only members recycling and as a result it took up to 2 to 3 hours.…

Introduction Fashion is used as a medium for people to express themselves and communicate who they are, however, as a whole, the industry is based on materialism and design obsolescence that undermines the notion of sustainability. Sustainability can be defined as being able to meet the needs of the present without compromising the future economically, socially and environmentally (TFIA, 2014). Designers have a responsibility to work within these guidelines, though most do not. Businesses can control the impact they have on the environment, society and economy by changing their business philosophy, modifying their production processes and products, and by utilising their influence to educate consumers. Business Philosophy and Management Companies have a social, economic and environmental responsibility to partake in sustainable practices.…

The self-evaluation test has brought to my attention that I have a “Driver” kind of communication style, a “high self monitor” score of 14, and a “compromising” type of management style. My goal is to slow down my speed of talking.…
