On August 8, 1945, the International Military Tribunal (IMT) announced the commence of the Nuremberg Trials. The people who had been involved with the concentration camps and still alive, were informed about the Nuremberg Trials and the crimes they had committed. Some of those crimes include crimes against peace, and crimes against humanity. These were the crimes that had taken place during the concentration camps of death.

In one of the trials, Doctors that were also involved were accused of crimes against humanity, including medical experiments on prisoners of war. These trials were called the doctor trials. Also, there was a judges trial. There were 16 lawyers and judges who were charged for furthering the Nazi plan for racial purity. Some German industrialists were charged with slave labor and plundering occupied countries. Various other German people were accused of things like violence against the inmates and other atrocities. Of the 185 people that were indicted, 12 defendants received death sentence, 8 others were given life in prison, and an additional 77 people received prison terms of varying
