Assess The Importance Of Career Academies In Schools

When kids get into high school, they realize the amount of freedom they have in terms of their academic studies. Highschool gives students a shot at finding out who they are and what they may want to do with their lifes. Career academies allow students to have more flexibility and increasingly helps them know what they are good at, as well as stay in school. Students who are interested into their classes become more focused and engaged in them. Career academies also give students a connection with their desired career pathways. Allowing kids to select their own classes will greatly benefit them in terms of preparing them in choosing their career pathways . All high schools should integrate career academies into their curriculums. Students should have the opportunity to pick classes they are interested in. Everyone becomes more engaged into something that interests them than something that doesn’t. A person’s interests creates an urge to learn more and keeps his or her mind focused. As the name gives it away, career academies teach some of the most important aspects in the careers that are provided by the academy. The goal of these academies is to expose students to careers that may interest them and prepare them for future careers (National Career Academy Coalition, 2017). This can also prepare students for college and even let them prepare for future classes they may take in college .
