After Henry Ford had changed the world with the automobile, he went on to try and create a way of getting this invention to the common household. The assembly line was a device for mass production that combined labor and effective planning and teamwork. The assembly line was made in the United States of America and was used across Canada and U.S.A. The assembly line brought the world a means of mass-production. The ability to mass produce brought the common population innovative technology and created a method for small ideas to grow faster.The assembly line also created a way for people without specific abilities to make a living and thus grew the economy.

Total war is a term used to define the mobilization of all a country’s resources, human and material, to wage war. Total war has been a state that has happened in many countries around the world. The specific event I am referencing is the state of total war experienced in Canada during World War 2. Canada went into this type of war after Canadians decided to enter the war against NAZI-Germany. The State of total war in Canada in World War 2 took Canada out of the Great Depression, proved women could do what men could do in the workforce.

After the majority of men were sent to fight on both of the world wars Canada was in need of workers to “fight the war on the homefront”. Women in Canada stepped up to manage the production of wartime supplies and the well-being of Canadian industries. When women stepped up in the war and took action in the “war on the homefront” they gained a respect for their ability and recognition that women were as capable as men at labor.
