According to Allatson Paul, there are many negative stereotypes surround them from their lifestyle to their job. To start with, many believe that Mexican are mostly immigrant and they mostly worker or low paying jobs. Furthermore, there are people that criticize them for the increase in population of America from either giving birth or crossing the border illegally. People also think that they are lazy as well. Not only that people think that Latino is directly mean Mexicans. These are just a few negative stereotypes that Mexicans have to face in America. Even though, they make up nearly two third of U.S population, these stereotypes still not decrease but only getting worse and worse. The larger the population the harder to define the difference between which group best represent the whole communities and sometime the group with most negativity represent the whole communities. There are several form of media but movies are abundance with stereotypes. For example, African Americans is more likely to play a role as gang members, military personals, or any roles that could relate to being violent. On the other hand, Chinese men are often shows running a restaurant or old wise men giving instruction to main character. Other time, Mexican Americans mostly show up in movie as drug dealer. The main problem with this is the main character usually white males. Many people do not question why such roles got assigned to such specific group and slowly accept those stereotypes. Films are tools that people use to assess situations and determine their own interact with others but stereotypes got extremely exaggerated and applied without consideration about the harm it may cause. While many claim them as politically incorrect but films are not so easy forgotten especially on DVD, CDs, or VHS tapes. Films are harder to faded away and the stereotypes images in these films will likely live on
