Could something culturally and the nature of their home provide a different environment that the children are commonly exposed to? If there children are commonly exposed to a high stress environment in the home, similar to a test, are the better prepared to the typical stressful atmosphere of a test, better preparing them for the test, thus increasing their test scores? This again would be due to the cultural differences, education stressed more in the homes of Asian Americans as opposed to the not so stressed education in the homes of other ethnic groups.
