Ashley's Behavior

Children don’t take into consideration how their behavior can affect others. A child named Ashley was constantly being harassed by her classmates (her microsystem) at school and on social media. She would be pushed into lockers and call every derogatory term in the book. Even though her classmates’ actions were physical, most encounters were emotional.
In Ashley’s situation, she was experiencing bullying which can be defined as an aggressive behavior (words, actions, or social exclusion) which intentionally hurts or harms another person; the behavior occurs repetitiously and creates a power imbalance such that it is difficult for the victim to defend him or herself.
