For this semester’s book review I decided to read Three Little Words by Ashley Rhodes-Courter. While reading this novel, I became overwhelmed with all of the things that were happening to the child. Overview of the Crank Trilogy The books that I chose to do my report on were the Crank trilogy, Crank, Glass, and Fallout, by Ellen Hopkins. Crank was published in 2004, Glass was published in 2007, and the last book, Fallout came out in 2013. Ellen Hopkins wrote these books when she had a personal experience when her daughter, Kristina, started using "the monster" after she met the wrong person. She wrote the books to help herself understand why her daughter did it, then she realized that other people would relate to it and how many people had the same story.…

The book I chose to read for the third quarter is called “The Anybodies”. This book was written by Julianna Baggott (N. E. Bode). I was excited to read this book because the cover looked very interesting and it seemed like a book I would be interested to read. This book is about a girl named Fern who was switched with another baby at birth and she lived with a very boring family, the Drudgers, her whole life. Eleven years later, Fern’s biological father comes to their front door and the families agree to exchange their kids for the summer.…

Although what Lorraine did to her children seems inexcusable, it’s important to consider the environment she was raised in. Lorraine was birthed by a teenaged mother herself.…

Most characterize childhood as valuable, precious and peaceful, and in some cases, our childhood may determine whom we will grow to be. However, in the novel “Lullabies for Little Criminals”, Baby’s childhood can be seen as a loss of innocence, as it was corrupted into something unpleasant.…
