Student Body vs ASB First of all, ASB helps work to make sure school activities, clubs, all finances and fundraising, dances, spirit weeks, pep rallies, honorees, posters and flyers, etc are in order. Some are arguing upon the idea that the student body should be the ones making the decisions to dances and school activities and ASB should improve on student engagement. Yes, ASB should improve on student engagement and try to get them to be more involved with school. However, it is hard for ASB because even though ASB is trying to engage with them, they are not responding. ASB has deadlines and to get the students opinions, they try to go to the students classes and they also hand them surveys. It depends on them whether they care or not because

All the issues discussed at every meeting affect the student body since they mostly relate to them. One of the observation I noticed about the NCSA is that at first all the representatives grouped together based on friendship. So even not knowing them, I could tell certain things about based on who they were friends…

Through my expected experiences at Cal Baptist University, I hope to grow and mature into an experienced, well-rounded person. Cal Baptist offers many different aspects on campus that allow students to reach their full potential. Why are you interested in ASB? What do you hope to gain from this experience? I want to participate in ASB because it would allow me to help people I normally would not come into contact with. There are other things I could do for Spring Break, however, the most satisfying thing I could do would be volunteer my time to a worthy cause. I have always loved to help people and ASB would allow me to help people during a time that I would generally be selfish with my time.…

ASB Election Application 1. I am interested in running for Leadership for many reasons. I am approaching my senior year of high school and I regret not being involved as much in the school community. I don’t really have much planned so if I ended up being elected, I would avidly be involved in any activity I can in hopes to give back to a school I’ve been happy to call home for six years.…

Does an HBCU offer an African American student more than a PWI? An HBCU, “is a Historically Black College or University, that was founded by our ancestors to educate us on our history as African-American descents.” Before HBCUs were a thing, African Americans were free slaves that were not allowed to get an education. This did not stop them from learning a way to read, write, and calculate math. The Philadelphia Quakers founded the Institute of Colored Youth, so the children will have the opportunity to get an education.…

At Donna Klein Jewish Academy’s high school (DKJA), the decision-making process, along with many other procedures, seems to be non-existent. Although the school has been in existence for over two decades, with an enrollment of 650 students from kindergarten to high school, looking at its government and organization, one would think that it was in its inaugural year, with rookies running the show. DKJA prides itself on its “family” environment and caring faculty and staff. This “family,” however, has few rules and in essence runs itself.…

As the season of fall approaches here at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, I have reached the middle of my fall semester as a freshmen college student. Midterms are approaching and I am pulling my hair out due to the sleepless nights and long hours of studying for midterms. There are some students are planning activities for Halloween while I on the other hand am preparing my study guide for my Microeconomic midterm. The closest to a break I would have from school would be Thanksgiving break, and during the break I would return home and begin working for my family. All the stress I am feeling about school could be due to my unorganized school schedule and responsibility of renting an apartment.…

Many people are not aware that school funding is a current issue within the public school systems. Not only are people who do not have children not informed; the parents of the students are not informed. For example, the principal of a Title I school should not have to make the decision of picking between having a library OR a reading instruction teacher when the students clearly need both. There is an ongoing effort to get the parents of the students involved and educated. This will help bring more attention to the needs of the school which will in turn help their children, the students.…

In this Action Research paper, I am going to discuss the demographics and break down of my classroom library, and the possible deficits it presents to the students who populate it. This is significant because the more a child is exposed to a rich and dynamic library of books the better he or she has to be fluent in both reading and writing (Tompkins, 2015). It is also essential to to remember that a lack of culturally variegated texts may have an negative impact on children. I will first discuss the context that contains all the breakdown of the district, secondly the individual makeup of what my school looks like and finally represent the individual classroom demographics.…

Personal Philosophy of the Student Affairs Field Reflecting on my personal college experience and those of my peers, I believe that the field of Student Affairs provides a unique and even essential opportunity to help shape the experience that student’s receive within the university setting. I strongly believe that students gain more from their college experience learning and growing outside of the classroom rather than inside. Self-discovery and personal exploration through extra-curricular activities and interpersonal interactions guide students through their academic careers and develop who they wish to become as an adult facing the “real world.” Student Affairs professionals help to ensure that each student begins their track to self-discovery…

A school board is a very important part of the school district. The member of the school board can be elected or appointed and they have many keys jobs that make them so important. Some of these jobs include making sure each child has the best education possible, think about the community’s viewpoint, and keeping the budget as close to the given amount as they can. When I first learned we had to attend a school board meeting as one of the assignments for this class, I wasn’t too thrilled, just because many meetings go over the same thing and it would be a bit of a hassle to go there. At this point, before going to the meeting, I was still in the point of view when I was in high school, but I soon realized that as a future teacher I should care…

Why a Written Communication Policy? Communication is essential for any organization to be successful, especially in education (National School Public Relations Association, 2006). The flow of communication between the school superintendent, local school board, teachers, students, parents and community, must be transparent with written policies in place that are accessible (National School Public Relations Association, 2006). A school communications policy should be carefully written with direction on the purposes, plans and objectives how the school will communicate with each of the stakeholders (Moore, 2012).…
