ASB Election Application
1. I am interested in running for Leadership for many reasons. I am approaching my senior year of high school and I regret not being involved as much in the school community. I don’t really have much planned so if I ended up being elected, I would avidly be involved in any activity I can in hopes to give back to a school I’ve been happy to call home for six years. I also would like to run for Leadership because I would like to challenge myself. It’s not that I can’t work well with others, but I usually jump to accomplishing most tasks on my own. It seems like being in Leadership will train me for my fast-approaching adulthood by working with the other student body members daily. I also attended events orchestrated by

Joining the ASB, I believe I’ll bring my organizational skills ready to complete any task assigned to me. For as long as I can remember, organizing everything, from my toys to everything in my room, has been a top priority of mine. Not only do I organize everything because it makes everything easier, but I personally enjoy doing it. Along with organizing, I also excellent at strategically planning and actually executing what I brainstorm. When I have a goal, I eventually fulfill it. A simple, prime example of this skill is with all the school work and extracurricular activities I’ve been doing this year. Along with APs and other academic classes, I’m also a member of the SOCES Stage Crew. I prioritize everything needed to be accomplished at certain times so I can eventually finish everything. I also have decent communication skills. My weak spot may be my shyness around people I don’t know, but I actively listen and take directions …show more content…
I think the ASB is already doing an excellent job with all the events they are putting together. I don’t know about the ASB’s financial state, but for the next Homecoming dance, I think it would be cool to possibly try a glow-in-the-dark, black light-themed dance. I think that would be very profitable because that would be very appealing to most students due to it resembling a rave of some sort. From there, we can design the same area used for the last two dances with anything with the glowing, fluorescent color scheme. Along with beverages and snacks, we can also have another source of money coming while the dance is still going on. We could have a face painting booth available, where certain designs can be painted on someone’s face with glowing face paint for a dollar or two. I’m sure there will be some people that would like to go along with the black light- themed. This will give an effect of a cool type of party that some students have attended before. If not that, the ASB should just continue what they are doing because they are already doing a fantastic job with everything they

Why are you interested in ASB? What do you hope to gain from this experience? I want to participate in ASB because it would allow me to help people I normally would not come into contact with. There are other things I could do for Spring Break, however, the most satisfying thing I could do would be volunteer my time to a worthy cause. I have always loved to help people and ASB would allow me to help people during a time that I would generally be selfish with my time.…

The leadership role in which I have had the greatest positive influence in has been as the Fine Arts Commissioner in ASB. As the Fine Arts Commissioner, it is my responsibility to showcase the performing arts in any way I possibly can, and while I have successfully done that, I’ve also successfully created a new rally that now occurs every year. Even though last year was my first year on ASB, I still made an impact on my school by taking charge of said new rally. My ASB director wanted to try having an on-campus winter dance before winter break and we figured the best way to promote the new dance would be through a rally. In addition, my ASB director didn’t want to have cheer and dance perform in this rally, for they perform in every other…

Student Body vs ASB First of all, ASB helps work to make sure school activities, clubs, all finances and fundraising, dances, spirit weeks, pep rallies, honorees, posters and flyers, etc are in order. Some are arguing upon the idea that the student body should be the ones making the decisions to dances and school activities and ASB should improve on student engagement. Yes, ASB should improve on student engagement and try to get them to be more involved with school. However, it is hard for ASB because even though ASB is trying to engage with them, they are not responding.…

From being a youth mentor in my church, to leading in my extracurricular activities; my leadership was and still is heavily demonstrated in both my words and my actions. Being selected as a member would mean I will be devoted and pledged to all of the program and what it’s born to be and become. Also, bringing a vision and an attitude that I can change and influence those around me from the Inside and out.…

I can still remember the day when my parents told me the phrase, “You are a leader, not a follower.” It was in kindergarden right after I told them about a few girls who were making fun of a friend of fine, and I decided to stop them and defend her. When my parents told me that phrase, it definitely stuck with me throughout my life. I think that’s a phase most kids hear time to time in their childhood. It’s that phrase that makes you question, what it a leader?…

A normal person might strive to be average, to be the okay for the moment and never truly use their full potential. For a normal person, being in a leadership position can sometimes be too hard, complicated, and stressful if they are not dedicated or prepared. Each of these factors can discourage many people, people who have the potential but not the training or motivation to hold a position of leadership. I, however, believe that I have the potential, the training, and the motivation to do something amazing as the VP of District Four. As I stated, every person has the potential to be a leader, though some stand out more than others.…
