As Time Goes By First Grade In The first grade , I was very short compared to the rest of the people in my class
My mother would always style my hair like a typical little girl. A long part down the middle of my head and two pony tails on both sides of my head. I would always dress a little awkward because i would never wear what my mother picked out for me ever, “hey Brianna wear this today you will look so cute.” of course I would reply back with no i want to wear what i want too.” With my smart mouth. Along with My little smart mouth i had very bad separation anxiety. Every time my mother would drop me off at school. I would cry for hours upon hours so long the teacher would always have to put my in another class room. When

My childhood in New York City was very difficult for me. I grow up in a predominantly Hispanic Dominican decent neighborhood in the upper Manhattan area called Washington Heights. Washington Heights in the early 1990’s was the heart of the drug trade. At one point in the 1990’s it was considered one of the worst neighborhoods to raise a child. I remember in the news, the news anchor reported that New York City was recognized as the crime capital in the 1950's through the early 1990's.…

Like all children all I ever wanted was to be big and do big people things. I engaged in a few family members that I would look up to and try everything they did. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

Out of the different lessons I saw, I chose to do a critique on a First Grade lesson called, ‘Teeth with a Bite’. I chose this lesson because I think that 1st grade is an appropriate grade to start teaching the students the importance of taking care of their teeth and what can happen if they do not. I tend to think that this lesson could be taught at a Kindergarten level but perhaps First grade is more developmentally appropriate because the students can understand the information more clearly and relate it better to their everyday life. This lesson plan did include two different health goals, they are as follows; ‘I will take care of my teeth’ and ‘I will take care of my body.…

One obstacle I have faced my whole life is my height. Most people dream of being tall because they only see the glamorous part of it: reaching top shelves, the ability to be a supermodel, and athletic advantages. Being tall may be great when you are older, but when you are growing up and you 4-5 inches taller than everyone, life gets somewhat difficult. Growing up tall created a lot of issues in my confidence, but luckily I was able to find an activity I excelled at due to height that allowed me to conquer my insecurities. The issues I developed because of my height traveled far beyond the difficulty of finding clothes and shoes.…
